Project Value $400 million

Hill provided construction management services for the expansion and upgrade of the 300,000 SM ASYAPORT Container Terminal. The project enabled the terminal’s main 2,010-meter quay to cater to container vessels with capacities ranging from 1,000 to 18,000 TEU, with a 330-meter feeder quay serving vessels ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 TEU. Upon completion, ASYAPORT became the first trans-shipment container terminal in Turkey, featuring a draft of up to 18 meters, a total quay length of 2,000 meters, and a capacity of up to 2.5 million TEU.

Hill delivered construction management services across all three phases of the project—pre-construction, construction, and acceptance. This included the coordination of all stakeholders, procurement and contract management, planning and cost control, site management, document management, and reporting. The company deployed an independent team of experts comprising a Construction Manager, Contract Manager, Quality & Materials Engineer, Program and Cost Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, HSE Engineer, and Document Controller.

This team monitored and oversaw key activities such as dredging of sand and clay materials in the future feeder basin and approach channel; filling and ground preparation in the terminal’s future land areas; jet grouting for seismic reinforcement along the quay walls; construction of quay walls and terminal pavements; installation of utility grids, including lighting, drainage, power, water, and communication systems; and construction of specialized facilities such as reefer racks, fuel supply and washing stations, and several key buildings—Administration, Service and Workshop, Customs, Electric Power Station, Water Tank and Pump Station, Fuel Station, and Government Buildings—along with the electrical infrastructure throughout the terminal.
