Client Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC)

Services Owner's Representative

Project Value $130 million

Hill is providing owner’s representative services for the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) co-funded, $130 million renovation of four existing buildings, the abatement of a preschool, the abatement and demolition of a middle school, and the construction of two new buildings. The project also includes $15 million in Locally Funded Initiatives (LFI). These LFIs allow the District to enhance certain areas of the project beyond Ohio School Design Manual specifications and/or to add features the District believes will enhance the learning experience.

The first phase of the project includes the construction of a 230,000 SF high school with a state-of-the-art auditorium and competition gymnasium, as well as a 100,000 SF intermediate school for third- to fifth-grade students. These schools will be built on a greenfield site adjacent to the current high school/middle school campus. A connecting drive will provide access to the existing athletic facilities and additional connectivity between the schools.

The first phase of the renovations will include the full renovation of the existing high school to accommodate the District’s middle-school students. This will leave the existing middle school available for swing space prior to its demolition at the end of the project.

The District’s three elementary schools will also undergo complete renovations, encompassing HVAC, plumbing, life safety, security, and technology upgrades to provide improved educational spaces for the pre-kindergarten to second-grade students in the District.

Hill is providing tailored owner’s representative services to support OFCC and the District and facilitate a team atmosphere with the State, District, A/E, and contractor. Hill’s services include preconstruction support for estimating, programming, scheduling, and bidding through such construction activities as inspection, quality assurance, change order review, and owner training.
