Hill provided owner’s representative, project management, and construction management services for this new, 93-acre cruise ship passenger destination in the Bimini Islands, Bahamas, for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) Cruises. The out-island destination encompasses tiki bars, restaurants, a snorkeling lagoon, recreational amenities, and a marine reserve. In total, the destination features 10 beaches with landscape areas and more than 77,800 plants; hardscape features, including an arrivals plaza, a large dining pavilion, a family food pavilion, 50 cabanas, and 10 showers; a utility complex; a power plant; and related service buildings designed as a traditional Bahamian village.

Hill provided comprehensive support to MSC, including evaluation, negotiation, and assistance with selection of the general contractor. Hill’s services helped the project proceed according to the planned schedule and budget, while providing MSC with the current and accurate information needed to make informed decisions as work proceeded.

In addition to these passenger amenities, projects also included port development. This project involved the construction of a new cruise ship pier and dredged channel to accommodate the MSC fleet.
