Hill International Appoints Mark Rynning as CEO

Mark Rynning

Hill International has appointed Mark Rynning as global Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This promotion follows his successful tenure as Hill’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), a role he has held since 2024.

“Mark has driven tremendous performance results as COO,” said Derek Amidon, CEO of GISI Consulting Group. “His acumen and the sheer depth of his four decades of experience are exactly what Hill needs at the helm in this next phase of the company’s growth.”

Hill International joined GISI in 2022, and since then has made significant investments in systems, processes, and operational excellence.

“Over the past two years, I’ve seen firsthand the strength of Hill’s business and the enormous potential ahead of us,” said Rynning. “GISI has helped springboard our growth with key hires in our most important markets. We have strong momentum across our regions, a disciplined operating model, and an exceptional team delivering for our clients every day. We’ve made real progress and we’re just getting started.”

Strong Regional Leadership

Rynning will continue to oversee Hill’s existing Regional Leaders: Gregory Heinz (Americas), Manolis Sigalas (Europe/India), Abdullah Alnabhan (Middle East) and Hill Advisory President / Chief Growth Officer J.P. Villamizar.

“This is an exceptionally strong leadership team that has brought new strategic focus across our global markets,” said Rynning.

Hill’s 50th Anniversary

This marks a new chapter for Hill, which is fitting as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

Hill has grown from a pioneering project management firm into a global leader in program, project and construction management, supporting some of the world’s most complex and consequential infrastructure projects.

“As we celebrate 50 years, we have an opportunity to recognize the extraordinary legacy that has been built at Hill while being very deliberate about where we go next,” said Rynning. “We have strong leaders in place, tremendous expertise across our regions, and the broader capabilities of GISI Consulting Group behind us. I’m excited about what we can accomplish in Hill’s next chapter.”
