Simon Properties Group, Inc. is a Standard & Poor 500 company and the largest public U.S. real estate investment trust. Hill provided project management services to Simon for the Copley Place Retail Expansion and Residential Addition project in Boston’s Back Bay, at the southwest corner of Stuart and Dartmouth Streets. The project added a tower to the Copley Place Development which was initially built on air rights above the Boston Extension of the Massachusetts Turnpike in the early 1980s.

The project included approximately 115,000 SF of new space, including 60,000 SF of new retail, a restaurant and a winter garden, an approximately 54,000 SF expansion of the existing Neiman Marcus, and renovation of its current 115,000 SF. This provides a more significant Neiman Marcus presence in Boston. Work also involved approximately 680,000 SF of new residential space, improvements to the public realm surrounding the Copley Place Development, and the creation of a more welcoming entrance from the Southwest Corridor.
