The “Journey With AUS” Airport Expansion and Development Program (AEDP) is a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar program that will modernize and expand Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Key projects within the program include a new arrivals and departments hall, a new 20-gate concourse, and various airside and infrastructure upgrades and enhancements, such as a new central utility plant, parking, and baggage handling systems. Once complete, Journey with AUS will enable the airport to accommodate up to 30 million annual passengers in a customer-friendly, sustainable, and secure facility.
To support the program, the City of Austin selected Program Management Support Services (PMSS) teams to support, coordinate, and provide program management expertise to supplement and augment AUS’s internal AEDP delivery team. In addition to supporting the AEDP, AUS may also utilize their PMSS teams to help deliver projects under the airport’s Rolling Capital Improvement Program. This program emphasizes work on end-of-useful-life airside and landside and utility projects.
The Hill team, leveraging our best practices and lessons learned from similarly complex aviation programs across the U.S., is providing AUS with highly qualified resources on an as-needed basis to provide such services as project controls, grant management, risk management, agency coordination, and regulatory compliance, among others.
Hill’s support will help AUS to achieve the goals of the AEDP as planned, and with increased cost efficiency. The team will achieve this through a highly adaptable staffing approach, our deep bench of aviation professionals, and utilizing the specialty resources of our small and local business partners.
