Project Value N/A

Through a term requirements contract with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, Hill provides construction management services for various parks, landscaping, and tree-planting projects throughout New York City’s five boroughs.

New York City’s street trees program is the largest and most complex in the country, under which tens of thousands of trees are planted each year. The value of the program, considered the city’s most important ‘green’ project, is immeasurable. Street trees provide several benefits to urban residents: they beautify city streets, increase property values, reduce pollution, and reduce energy costs by negating the “heat island effect” and shading and cooling their surroundings.

In addition to managing the Street Trees program, Hill provides construction management services for the department’s Greenstreets Division, Natural Resource Group, and the Tree Trust program. These projects are designed to create green space and small parks in highly congested urban areas, adding valuable open space to their communities.

Hill’s construction management services are integral in controlling the projects’ budgets, schedules, and quality. Hill’s services include continuous on-site supervision, maintaining accurate records, preparing detailed construction reports, ensuring adherence to contract documents, maintaining schedules, establishing lines of communication, reviewing contractor payments, preparing change orders, and addressing community outreach needs.
