Hill provided owner’s project management services to the Malden Redevelopment Authority for a new state-of-the-art police station and community center. The project served as a critical part of the City of Malden’s downtown revitalization, enabling the City to use the existing City Hall and police station properties for redevelopment into an apartment and retail complex.

The new Malden Police Headquarters occupies 24,000 SF. The first floor entails secured entries to police operations, evidence services, roll call, detention and sally port, and the garage. The second floor contains police administration, detectives, locker facilities, and a fitness center. The facility’s compact floor plan, daylighting and views to the outdoors provide the basis of sustainable strategies such as high-performance exterior envelopes, high R-value glazing, energy saving electrical, and HVAC systems.

Hill managed the site selection process, programing, designer selection and procurement under the 149A CM-at-Risk statute. Hill also served as the owner’s representative on-site and oversaw the schedule progress, quality control, safety, and change order management during construction.
