Project Value $150 million

Fresno Yosemite International Airport, a key gateway to Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks, connects California’s Central Valley to the world with a range of domestic and international flights. Hill is providing construction management consulting services for the airport’s Terminal Expansion, a multi-phase project designed to enhance the travel experience and meet the evolving needs of passengers and airlines.

The project aims to increase capacity to meet passenger demand and improve safety, security, and operational efficiency for both domestic and international flights. The scope includes constructing a new terminal concourse and hold room with two new jet bridge swing gates, adding four concession retail spaces, and a new and remodeled tenant office facility. It also involves building a new federal inspection service (FIS) facility with an arrivals lobby and outdoor plaza, expanding the passenger screening checkpoint, installing a new Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS), and remodeling the baggage makeup area and conveyor.

Additionally, the project will demolish the existing FIS facility and complete significant exterior paving, sitework, parking facilities, and related infrastructure upgrades. ADA improvements will enhance the travel experience and increase travel options for the region.

In partnership with the Fresno Arts Council, the Airport is commissioning art from local artists as part of the terminal expansion. Notable pieces include a mural by Colleen Mitchell-Veyna and Kelsey Gilles. The new mural is located in the checkpoint area, which the project team delivered in April 2025, and beautifully showcases Fresno’s agriculture, nature, and communities.

Hill’s services include establishing project management and quality assurance protocols, engaging with stakeholders, assessing contractor performance and project budgets, and overseeing on-site inspection, staffing reviews, constructability assessments, and value engineering.
