The Cairo Monorail is a two-line monorail rapid transit system, which will be the longest driverless monorail system in the world, the two lines will create the first public transport links from the New Administrative Capital and 6th of October City to the Cairo metropolitan area, will facilitate the movement of the residents and visitors of Greater Cairo and will decrease the usage of the private cars.

The Cairo Monorail will be the fastest, safest and the most environmentally friendly transportation reducing congestion, improving air quality, saving fuel and decreasing the rates of environmental pollution.

The first line is the New Administrative Capital Monorail Transportation System with an approximate length of 54 km and 22 stations, including one depot will connect the New Administrative City with East Cairo, the line will provide a transfer to the Cairo Metro Line 3 at its terminus in Stadium station, and it will also be connected to the Cairo LRT at Almasa Hotel station (transfer to the Arts and Culture City station of the LRT) at New Capital.

And the other line is 6th of October City Monorail Transportation System with an approximate length of 42 km and 13 stations, including another depot line will connect 6th of October City with Giza, the line will provide a transfer to the Cairo Metro Line 3 at Wadi El Nile Station.
