Hill provided construction management services for the Cheju International Convention Center in Seoul, South Korea. This combined 400-room luxury hotel and conference center is a specialized convention facility capable of holding international conferences, large-scale meetings, lectures, seminars, concerts, and sports events, with a maximum capacity of 3,500 seats. The structural steel and reinforced concrete building has five levels above ground and two levels underground with underground and outdoor parking lots.
During contractor selection, Hill conducted reviews and reported on whether contractor bid documents submitted were prepared and proposed in accordance with bid requirements, reviewed and reported on cost breakdowns submitted, and reviewed and reported on turnkey contract documents. During construction, Hill reviewed progress payments, performed checks and review of changes and their associated costs, reviewed value engineering solutions, advised on construction quality and cost control, and provided claims prevention and resolution advice. During close-out, Hill analyzed and reported on final construction costs and helped to close out any unresolved claims.
