Hill International Welcomes John Gibson as Vice President, Claims and Advisory Services

Hill International is pleased to announce that John Gibson has joined Hill as Vice President, Claims and Advisory Services. Mr. Gibson will provide construction claims and dispute resolution services and help to grow the company’s global advisory consulting business.

Mr. Gibson, who previously worked with Hill on such landmark projects as the Palm Island development in Dubai and the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, returns to the company with nearly 35 years of experience in contract negotiation and dispute resolution. In addition to postings across the Middle East and Asia, Mr. Gibson has provided legal and consulting services on projects in North America, Europe, Africa, and South America, and through all phases of dispute resolution, including arbitration, mediation, and litigation.

Mr. Gibson has been involved in construction and trade disputes arbitration, including arbitration and mediation under the rules of the ICC, London Court of International Arbitration, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, Thai Arbitration Institute, Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration, Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Dubai International Arbitration Center, and Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration.

Prior to rejoining Hill, Mr. Gibson served as the Middle East & North Africa Director of Legal & Contracts for Samsung C&T Corporation, where he provided the company’s management and project teams with legal and contractual advice on contracts and tenders worth more than $7 billion. Mr. Gibson has also provided contract advisory services to prospective NFL players as a certified NFLPA Contract Advisor.

Mr. Gibson holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama School of Commerce and Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law. He is a member of the New York City Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar Association (inactive), and was previously a Hong Kong Law Society Registered Foreign Lawyer and a member of the Society of Construction Law (Gulf).
