Oiling the Machine: Steps to Successful Permitting on Infrastructure Megaprojects
A large crowd of various stakeholders took ceremonial shovels to “break ground” on the Spokane Transit Authority’s (STA) new $7.6 million vehicle maintenance facility.
The new facility will provide an area for the STA to service, wash and fuel its fleet of buses, paratransit and vanpool vehicles. The one-story, 69,000-SF building will house all paratransit vehicles and include a 20,000-gallon fuel storage tank equipped with fueling stations.
“This represents the start of a project we’re excited about with a client we value,” said Hill International’s Director of Operations, Spokane, Matthew Walker, AIA, CCM, DBIA. “The STA continues working to provide the best service possible to its patrons and this maintenance facility will aid in that effort.”
Hill International, serving as a subconsultant under and on-call agreement with the STA, will provide construction management, cost and schedule management, quality assurance, specialty consultant management and close-out management.
