The CFCD built a 15.5 km expressway section from Gradsko to the interchange at Drenovo, part of Pan-European Corridor X-d. To help deliver the project, the Hill team supervised all aspects of construction to promote compliance with quality standards, contractual terms, and environmental criteria. Hill’s responsibilities included quality control, quantity verification, progress tracking, cost analysis, environmental compliance, and administrative oversight.
The works included a new carriageway, 5 bridges ranging from 70 to 200 LM, 2 interchanges, 4 underpasses, and 4 overpasses. The new expressway also features new box and pipe culverts, dewatering systems, traffic signs, road markings, and local road integration. The team conducted environmental mitigation activities throughout construction. Construction adhered to the FIDIC Construction Contract First Edition (1999 Red Book).
The new expressway opened to traffic in January 2025, enhancing local and regional connectivity, reducing travel times, and supporting sustainable economic growth.
