Hill is providing project and construction management services to the City of Gilroy Department of Public Works for the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The current five-year CIP covers fiscal years 2024 through 2028, and Hill is currently supporting 18 associated projects, comprising the replacement, rerouting, and discontinuing of water lines; traffic signal installations; and sewer replacements and upgrades throughout the City. As project manager, Hill is helping the Department of Public Works plan their budget, prioritize and package projects, and develop work plans to improve and maintain the city’s public infrastructure.
The key to Hill’s management approach is a singular client focus, prioritizing the Department and the City of Gilroy’s best interests at all times. Throughout the CIP, the Hill team will use document control and project tracking and reporting to keep the Department informed. Hill’s holistic procurement approach will promote value and help ensure projects are ready to start on time.
During design development, our professionals will also work closely with Department staff and their project teams to identify and resolve any challenges before they can impact project progress. For example, the Hill team has made multiple project packaging recommendations to realize cost and schedule efficiencies. This includes grouping physically adjacent projects with similar means and methods together to reduce mobilization costs. Hill has also addressed the overall delivery schedule of the projects and has analyzed individual project schedules to attain an expedited, reasonable schedule for each project.
