Weathering the Storms Part 1: Funding Resiliency in the Utility Industry Through Mutual Aid Programs
Dear Valued Clients, Partners, and Colleagues:
In a normal business context, Hill International, Inc. prioritizes safety. So too now, amidst the COVID-19 outbreak around the globe, do we aim to achieve a safe working environment for our employees and our clients. In light of recommendations by health organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we are taking steps as a company to minimize the health risks to which our employees, clients, partners, and community are exposed and reduce the potential for inadvertently contributing to the spread of this pandemic virus. Namely, all of our office-based personnel will be working remotely until May 15th. Likewise, all non-essential travel is being curtailed until June 1. We will reevaluate the situation as we approach June 1 to see if further precautionary measures must be taken.
Even with our prioritization of health, Hill is committed to persevering through this temporary disruption with no detrimental impacts to the projects of our clients. Our site staff will continue to operate according to the needs of their projects. They will be available on their jobsites so long as our clients deem it necessary to maintain normal operations. Our remote office staff remain available during standard business hours to support any project needs. In addition, we have encouraged our staff to take strict measures in accordance with the guidance of WHO, the CDC, and their regional health organizations, to carefully monitor their proximity to other people via social distancing, to stay home if they feel ill, and to rigorously practice other standard hygienic measures. All these measures are being taken with the goal of keeping clients’ projects on track and stakeholders healthy. Our executive team will continue to evaluate ways to deliver the best quality of services to clients as the global health crisis evolves.
We understand that this may be a confusing time for everyone. This virus has disrupted our work, education, and leisure in an unprecedented way. Accordingly, Hill is doubly committed to maintaining channels of communication with our clients throughout this troubling period. If you should have questions, please reach out to any member of Hill’s staff, via phone or email, who will be available to promptly help answer your questions about Hill’s operations, our policies, and any updates we may have.
We wish good health for you and your loved ones during this period marked by the coronavirus illness and beyond.
Sincerely,
Raouf S. Ghali, Chief Executive Office
