Abbegayle Munson and Delia Darrah are early-career women working as project administrators on Hill International’s construction management team at the Port of Seattle. Empowered by the Port’s commitment to mentorship, opportunity, and inclusivity, Abbegayle and Delia add value on complex infrastructure projects, laying the groundwork for the Port’s continued growth and their own development as tomorrow’s construction leaders.

Since joining Hill in 2025, Abbegayle and Delia have quickly become trusted extensions of the Port’s construction management staff. Their roles span field coordination, documentation, and close collaboration with Port staff and contractors within active maritime and industrial environments, requiring adaptability, accountability, and a willingness to take on new challenges early in their careers.
As part of Hill’s scope, Abbegayle and Delia were also part of an internal group supporting the Port’s transition from OneDrive to Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). Through continuous collaboration and problem solving with Port staff, they helped migrate information and adapt the new system to the realities of construction management at the seaport. Their efforts have contributed to improved workflows and strengthened documentation practices, helping reduce downstream claims risk for the Port.
“The seamless integration of contract staff into the Port’s teams—along with early adoption of new processes and shared training resources—reflects a strong partnership between the Port of Seattle and its on-call firms,” says Hill Business Development Director Noelle Brooks. “Together, the Port, Abbegayle, and Delia navigated what could have been a complex transition, turning it into a smooth and collaborative effort. In less than a year, they worked side by side with Port staff to migrate to a new construction management system, operating as an extension of an integrated team. The Port’s collaborative culture, combined with Abbegayle and Delia’s adaptability and responsiveness, made this a shared success for everyone involved. Thank you, Abbegayle and Delia, for your continued partnership and commitment.”
Through shared training resources, access to experienced mentors, and an environment that values curiosity and accountability, the Port empowered these women to contribute meaningfully rather than observe from the sidelines, helping them launch their construction careers. In turn, with their adaptability and professionalism, Abbegayle and Delia have helped keep the Port’s projects moving, reduced friction during transitions, and strengthened collaboration between Port staff and on-call consultants. Abbegayle and Delia’s experiences at the Port reflect a broader truth: when early-career women in construction receive real responsibility and support, their entire team benefits.
