Services Project Management
Project Value $15 Million
The MHARS Board of Lorain County undertook a project to deliver a new 25,000 SF Crisis Recovery Center. The first of its kind in Lorain County, the facility provides a variety of services for those experiencing mental health or addiction crises, including evaluation and stabilization, detoxification, counseling, and medication management. Designed to be inviting and therapeutic, the building features 32 beds, half dedicated to mental health patients and half dedicated to substance use disorder patients. The facility operates with a “no wrong door” approach, helping meet incoming patients where they are, connect them to appropriate healthcare services, eliminate obstacles to navigating insurance and the healthcare system, and increase access to care. The Crisis Recovery Center also houses the regional 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and mobile crisis intervention teams. In addition to supporting patients and their loved ones, the facility reduces the burden on regional emergency rooms, as well as law enforcement and the court system.
Hill provided project management and owner’s representative services for the project. Our team was responsible for managing site selection, conducting market research and supporting procurement of the design and construction teams, assisting in the selection of a delivery method, and managing pre-construction. Throughout the project, we also prepared estimates and schedules as needed. During construction, we provided schedule, cost, risk, quality, and safety management. We facilitated stakeholder programming, management, and communications through construction and post-construction to deliver the project in accordance with MHARS Board objectives and all regulatory requirements.
