Hill International’s Ulderico Amaro was recently a featured speaker at the Zak World of Facades Middle East Conference. Held in Doha, Qatar, Mr. Amaro’s discussion at the conference focused on the future of building façade construction.
“It was a great discussion, good questions and answers, that provided attendees with the latest information and expertise on building facades and the future of building facades,” said Amaro, who has more than 20 years of experience serving as Design Director and Project Manager for landmark buildings throughout the Middle East.
“For a 45-minute conversation, there were a lot of topics covered. We discussed the new technology for façades, such as biometric technology where a building façade will move when the sun hits it. We talked about secondary skin façades, and how an air pocket is created between the building and façade that keeps a building cool. Lots of environmental aspects, 3D printing, BIM and how it’s an efficient tool that can help clients. We want to open new doors and avenues and set new standards really.”
Mr. Amaro is currently serving as the Design Director for Hill’s project management team on the Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) Towers. This project, which is a designated building for the QATAR 2022 World Cup, features three towers on a four-story podium (residential, commercial, and a hotel) and due to be finish 2021.
